The Fine Signs Crazyman Has Something For Everyone. Multisport & duathlon races in solo or team options. Just pick your passion!
Established in 1991, the Crazyman is one of NZ's longest running multisport events. Based around the icon outdoor elements of Wellington's Hutt City this 56k scenic tour showcases the hills, beaches, harbour and river that make our Capital the outdoor wonderland that it is.
Held annually in early December, the Crazyman attracts around 400 entrants. Participants enter solo or in teams in either the full multisport format (13k Kayak, 28k Mountain Bike, 13k Trail Run) or as duathletes (mountain bike/run).
This challenging but achievable event embraces all ages, abilities and backgrounds. In short, you'd be "crazy not to" contemplate the Crazyman... It's a "Hell of an event"!
Kayak 13k / Mtn Bike 28k / Trail Run 13k

The feature, full-blooded solo Crazyman is the Capital's longest running multisport event. The course is wonderfully scenic & savage, & multisporters race alongside duathletes on the exact same route, so you'll always have others around you. Past winners have included Coast to Coast legends Steve Gurney, Jill Westenra, Kristina Anglem, Gordon Walker, Emily Miazga, Dougal Allen, Jess Simson, Richard & Elina Ussher & Corrinne O'Donnell. But this is a race with something for everyone.
NB: All grades are decided by age on race day. In all races the Men and Womens category are an open overall award regardless of age. A category must have 3 entries to be valid. Categories with less than 3 entries will be reallocated to the next obvious category (e.g: masters to veteran).
